Dover Athletic's promotion push is back on
track after the Whites recorded a second away-win in four days with
a 2-0 triumph at Bishops Stortford in Blue Square South on Tuesday
night.
Two headers from Olly Schulz in a dominant first-half display
all but sealed the points for Andy Hessenthaler's side, who moved
up to sixth, level on points with fifth-placed Bath City who occupy
the final play-off spot but with a goal-difference just two goals
inferior.
Dartford's slump continued with a 2-1 home
defeat against Boreham Wood in Ryman League Premier Division on
Tuesday night.
Lee Burns netted his 20th of the season on the hour to cancel
out Wood's first-half opener, but the play-off chasers stole the
points with 20 minutes remaining.
Darts remain seven points clear of second-placed Kingstonian,
having played four fewer games but have now lost three of their
last four games and won only one of their last six home games.
Cray Wanderers' chances of avoiding the drop
were hit by a 2-1 home defeat against Aveley while
Maidstone United did little to ease their fears
with a 1-1 draw against Horsham at Homelands.
Tommy Tyne drew Cray level 20 minutes from time, but the Essex
side grabbed the points late-on.
Debutant Adrian Stone scored 53 minutes into his first
appearance for Maidstone to put the hosts ahead but the Sussex side
earned a point nine minutes later.
Maidstone and Cray remain five points clear of the relegation
zone, but while the Stones have played the same number of games as
their relegation rivals, the Wands have played two games more.
Margate's renaissance continued under Iain
O'Connell as they moved off the bottom of the table, but they had
to settle for a point against title-chasing Sutton United.
Leroy Huggins scored his third in three games on 38 minutes but
third-placed United had leveleld before the break.
Gate are unbeaten in three games but remain five points from
safety with 10 games remaining.
Tonbridge Angels' resurgence continued with a
2-0 win over Carshalton at Longmead which took them back into the
top-10 and Angels now find themselves just five points outside the
play-off places having been in the relegation zone a month ago.
Adam Burchell set the hosts on their way with the opener on 28
minutes and Sam Long made the game safe on 53 minutes.
Tommy Warrilow's side have now won five of six and have only
lost one of their last eight games.
Ashford Town boosted their chances of avoiding
the drop from Ryman League Division 1 South with a 1-0 win over
title-challengers Folkestone Invicta on Wednesday
night.
Mark Lovell scored the only goal 11 minutes from time at
Homelands to lift the Nuts and Bolts out of the bottom two and up
to fourth-from-bottom.
Invicta are third, four points behind leaders Worthing, but have
a game in hand.
Play-off chasing Sittingbourne had Joe Horlock
sent-off as they went down 1-0 to an early goal at basement boys
Eastbourne.
Whitstable Town's bid to avoid the
drop was further dented by wins for Ashford and Eastbourne as
the Oystermen fell back to the foot of the table.
Mark Munday's side lost a bad-tempered 4-1 defeat at
Whyteleafe on Tuesday night.
After Town fell 2-0 down inside eight minutes Munday was sent to
the stands and Ben Smith was red-carded, and despite Ian Pulman
pulling one back after the break, the hosts scored two more and
missed a penalty.
The Oystermen are level on points with second-bottom Walton
Casuals but have played three fewer games and are three points from
safety.
Chatham Town failed to secure their third
successive win as they suffered a 2-1 defeat to play-off chasing
Godalming Town at Maidstone Road to slip back down to 13th.
