Bromley produced a stunning comeback from 3-0
down with 17 minutes to play to earn a dramatic point at
Weston-Super-Mare in Blue Square South on Tuesday night.
The hosts were 1-0 up inside six minutes and doubled their
advantage on 62 minutes before adding a third 20 minutes from
time.
However Ashley Carew calmly converted a penalty on 73 minutes
and four minutes later Warren McBean rammed home the rebound after
Ryan Hall's shot was only parried.
The comeback was complete on 83 minutes when Hall's shot
deflected off a defender and into the net, and despite late
pressure, they could not find another goal to complete an epic
turnaround.
The win left Bromley four points off the play-off places, though
they have played more games than their rivals.
Iain O'Connell's first game in charge of
Margate ended with a 3-0 defeat against resurgent
Tonbridge Angels in Ryman League Premier Division
at Hartsdown Park.
The Angels secured their third win in a row courtesy of a Sam
Long goal on 11 minutes and two goals from Paul Booth in the final
five minutes which took his tally to five in the past four
games.
Margate fielded new signings Jamie Turner, Nick Barnes and Jay
Saunders - all new arrivals from Maidstone, and former Chelmsford
defender Grant Cooper.
Tonbridge moved up to 13th in the table and are only eight
points off the playoff places, with a game in hand.
Second-bottom Margate are now eight points from safety.
Maidstone United overcame Billericay 1-0 at
Homelands to end their run of seven losses in a row in all
competitions at their temporary home.
Danny Hockton scored the only goal nine minutes into the second
half to fire Peter Nott's side up to 16th.
After just their third home league win of the season the Stones
lie six points clear of the Essex side who occupy the final
relegation spot, having played the same number of games as the
Stones.
Folkestone Invicta's title challenge gained
pace as they re-took the lead in Ryman League Division 1 South with
a 1-0 win at Dulwich Hamlet.
After their 10-point penalty for entering a CVA was imposed,
Invicta fell to second behind Croydon Athletic, but James Everitt's
eighth-goal of the season after 45 minutes saw Neil Cugley's side
overtake their rivals and move a point clear with their 20th win of
the campaign - though Athletic boast two games in hand.
Sittingbourne enhanced their promotion
credentials as they completed the double over Chatham
Town with a 2-0 win at Maidstone Road.
Gary Abbott's side lie seventh, four points outside the
top-five, but have at least two games in hand on the sides in the
play-off places after Hicham Akhazzan and Jimmy Bottle earned the
points in either half.
Chatham are now 16th and 16 points off the bottom, though
basement-boys Ashford have four games in hand over the Chats.
Ramsgate are now 11 games without a win after
drawing a blank against struggling Walton Casuals at Southwood on
Tuesday.
The Rams have not won in seven at home and have drawn five of
their last six games as Warren Schulz fired a penalty over the bar
12 minutes from time and Jason Dolby was sent-off late-on.
Jim Ward's side went 12th but are now 10 points off the play-off
places.
Whitstable Town's struggles continued with a
3-0 defeat at promotion-chasing Fleet Town.
Goals on 30 and 40 minutes sent Andy Sinton's side into the
break with a comfortable lead and they grabbed a deserved third in
the second half.
It's as you were at the foot of the table with Whitstable
staying ahead of Eastbourne - who lost 1-0 in injury-time, and
Ashford, who did not play.
Cray Wanderers progressed to the Kent Senior
Cup semi-finals after overcoming Ashford Town
3-1.
Chris Borchescu gave Town a shock first-half lead at Hayes Lane
but the hosts levelled before the break and made the game safe in
the second-half.
