Gillingham fans have their say ahead of the visit of Shrewsbury to Priestfield

Stanley Aborah

Despite the fact that Gillingham are yet to win this season, our panel are confident they can break their duck against League 2 leaders Shrewsbury on Saturday. Here are there predictions:

MARK FELLOWES

(Ashford)

"Saturday’s game will be an interesting one. The Gills are eager to get their season kick-started and there’s no better way of doing it than by beating the team that we defeated at Wembley in May 2009.

"We need this win to start getting points on the board and climbing up this league.

"I’m looking forward to seeing if Stanley Aborah (pictured right) will play. I have a good feeling about this lad, his vision and passing ability is superb and he could be the key to splitting defences."

Prediction: Gillingham 2 Shrewsbury 0

PAUL BLAKELEY

(Maidstone)

"I don’t think any of us saw that ridiculous turn of events happening at Bury last week, so hopefully there’ll be something more resembling a defensive display this weekend.

"I’ve not been Mark McCammon’s biggest fan but if he’s going to earn his wages then fair enough - we definitely need someone for Akinfenwa to bring into play."

Prediction: Gillingham 2 Shrewsbury 0

JASON COLMAN

(Gillingham)

"It’s been the defence looking solid and the attack being a bit slow out of the blocks but against Bury it was the complete opposite – the defence was shocking and the attack fantastic.

"It feels like we have been away from Priestfield for months with all our away games butthis week Shrewsbury could be the team that take a beating from us. Mark McCammon was introduced by Hessenthaler at half-time and had a big impact on the game.

"I think Hessy should go with Mark McCammon (pictured right) and Bayo up front. Personally, I would run scared if those two were bearing down on me."

Prediction: Gillingham 4 Shrewsbury 0

SAM LIVINGSTONE

(Pangbourne)

"Despite feeling confident for all of the games so far, I still feel we will beat Shrewsbury. With hopefully Barchy, Cody and Weston coming back into the team, we will have a more solid midfield and balance to attack without having to plunge forward a la Bury.

"Hessy will have them fired up after the first-half display last weekend and with the crowd behind them and our record against the better teams at home, we will scrape a 2-1 victory with Akinfenwa and Cody on the scoresheet"

Prediction: Gillingham 2 Shrewsbury 1

Adebayo AkinfenwaSHREWSBURY FAN

Ant Thomas

"Messiah is the word for Graham Turner, he had everything to lose by coming back but we’ve done well.

"We often start seasons like this but tail away but I think we have to be looking at finishing in the play-offs at least this year.

"The game gives us a chance for revenge for the Wembley defeat in the same way the play-off final gave the Gills revenge for the 7-0 that season.

"It will be tough. Akinfenwa (pictured left) annihilated us last year and it will be a tough game as we don’t have the best record at Priestfield."

Prediction: Gillingham 1 Shrewsbury 1

Some of the predictions here are a little off the mark don't you think ? 4-0 to the Gills ?. I'd be happy with a simple 1-0 win at this stage, we need to get back on the rails and get back quick. How anyone reckons we will stick 4 past the league leaders and NOT concede with the way we have been playing is beyond me. Let's hope I get lots of abuse after we trash them though eh !
