Gills players celebrate
Adebayo Akinfenwa's goal on the opening day of the season
We’re looking for Gillingham
supporters to vote for their August player of the month.
Fans can choose one player from our
seven-man shortlist.
We’ve included players who have played
three games or more. The winner will be presented with a bottle of
champagne before the home League 2 match against Shrewsbury.
ADEBAYO AKINFENWA
Started his Gills career with a goal
against Cheltenham and has already shown what a threat he can be to
opposing defences.
ANDY BARCHAM
Enjoyed a good game against Morecambe
on Saturday and, with a little more luck, would have been off the
mark already this season.
JOSH GOWLING
Dropped for the game against Morecambe
but has shown glimpses that he can be a decent player at this
level.
JACK PAYNE
The only thing that slowed him down
last month was an injury picked up at Norwich. He has already shown
that this could be a big season for the young man.
CHRIS PALMER
Scored from the edge of the area at
Norwich and has performed well at both ends
of the pitch.
DANNY SPILLER
A never-say-die attitude is just what
the fans want and Spiller capped a solid first month with the goal
on Saturday.
TONY SINCLAIR
Wins countless balls in the air and
has not looked out of place since stepping up from non-league after
joining the Gills from Woking.
