Gillingham player-of-the-month for August - vote now

Gills players celebrate Adebayo Akinfenwa's goal on the opening day of the season

Gills players celebrate Adebayo Akinfenwa's goal on the opening day of the season

We’re looking for Gillingham supporters to vote for their August player of the month.

Fans can choose one player from our seven-man shortlist.

We’ve included players who have played three games or more. The winner will be presented with a bottle of champagne before the home League 2 match against Shrewsbury.

ADEBAYO AKINFENWA

Started his Gills career with a goal against Cheltenham and has already shown what a threat he can be to opposing defences.

ANDY BARCHAM

Enjoyed a good game against Morecambe on Saturday and, with a little more luck, would have been off the mark already this season.

JOSH GOWLING

Dropped for the game against Morecambe but has shown glimpses that he can be a decent player at this level.

JACK PAYNE

The only thing that slowed him down last month was an injury picked up at Norwich. He has already shown that this could be a big season for the young man.

CHRIS PALMER

Scored from the edge of the area at Norwich and has performed well at both ends
of the pitch.

DANNY SPILLER

A never-say-die attitude is just what the fans want and Spiller capped a solid first month with the goal on Saturday.

TONY SINCLAIR

Wins countless balls in the air and has not looked out of place since stepping up from non-league after joining the Gills from Woking.

Maybe you should replace spills on the home games and score a couple and he can tuck them in the net on the away games.

    ALSO

"typical gills fans voting for an idiot rather than someone who actually is a good player" You should pick up a copy of The Sun on a monday your find spills in the team of the week most weeks and I'm pretty certain gills fans don't have a say in that . . .

Danny Spiller? Tell me you lot are having a laugh? He's done nothing in the home perfomances, typical Gills fans voting for an idiot rather than someone who actually is a good player, if Spiller was any good why was he released from Dagenham and did we only offer him a 5month contract, sure he might run alot and work hard, but we need more than that, he was found wanting against Lincoln and Cheltenham.

Brandy didn't want to sign for us when we were in league one, so why would we be able to get him now that we're in a league lower?

sign Febian Brandy - he's without a club, won't cost a penny - imagine what we could sell him on for? McDonald is injured again and McCammon is a liability so come on Scally we need a shot of Brandy!

we need to sign Febian Brandy who is still without a club. McCammon is useless and now McDonald is injured again we need a shot of Brandy! Surely, signing him makes sense - picking him up on a free transfer he's gotta be worth some money if we sell him on?
