What can I say that I haven‘t said in
all my previous columns?
Those who were there at Morecambe on
Saturday would have been thinking, ‘how have we not won that
game?’
All the players were thinking the same
thing as we were travelling home.
Similar to the Hereford game, we
started the game at a good tempo, putting them under pressure,
something maybe that was lacking away from home previously.
There seems a much greater sense of
belief that we can go away from home and come away with a good
result. No disrespect to the opposition this season but we
shouldn’t fear anyone.
Saturday was a good point against a
tough side in the usual windy conditions you find close to the
coast. What suited us, though, was an excellent playing surface
which helped us keep the ball on the floor.
We created some good chances but again
like the Hereford game, we came up against a goalkeeper who pulled
off some great saves and deserverdly won MoM.
For all our good chances, we found
ourselves 1-0 down through what was probably their one and only
effort on goal.
We didn’t let our heads drop and
managed to grab the equaliser through Spills. However pleased he
was to score his first since returning to the club, he seemed more
disappointed that he didn’t win us the game in the last couple of
minutes.
Overall, though, there are many more
positives to come out of the game and the few hundred that made the
long journey up to Morecambe, who I must say were again fantastic
in giving their support, must sense this long overdue away win
coming soon.
