Ryman League Division 1 South round-up
Comments |

Whitstable Town secured their first win of the
season in Ryman Division 1 South on Saturday with a 3-2 success at
bottom-of-the-table Horsham YMCA.
Brannon O'Neill and Eddie Walker twice gave Horsham the lead in
the first half, with David Cory replying for Whitstable.
The home side then had two players sent off after the break and
Stuart Vahid made them pay with a double strike, including a
74th-minute penalty winner.
Ramsgate gained their first point of the season
in a 3-3 home draw with Worthing, but Jim Ward's side should have
collected all three after leading 3-0 with half an hour left.
Strikes from Mark Lovell and Paul Axon, as well as a Clay
Lamont own goal, appeared to put the Rams in command but they were
then rocked by strikes from Tom Manton and Mike Huckett (2).
Second-placed Faversham Town suffered their
first defeat since their promotion from the Kent League, losing 2-0
at home to the Met Police.
Although it was goalless at half-time, Met Police had missed a
number of chances but they found their range in the second half
through Steve Noakes and James Field.
Chatham Town also suffered their first defeat,
going down 2-0 at Walton Casuals for whom Charlie Ide scored twice
in the second half.
Sittingbourne made a flying start at Bognor
Regis with Tom Bradbrook giving them a 2nd-minute lead.
But after that it was all downhill for the Brickies as Bognor
scored four times without reply through Dean Maynard (two), Phil
Turner and own goal.
Trailing 1-0 at the break, Thamesmead Town hit
back impressively in the second half to defeat Ware 3-1 in Ryman
Division 1 North.
Michael Toner gave Ware their interval lead but then Mead took
control with goals by Danny Crouch (2) and Gabriel Momodu.
