Paul Farbrace says Kent are
facing a difficult time while the cash-strapped county battle to
improve their finances.
Six players have recently left the
club but Farbrace says it is important they
look at the long-term situation and do not get caught up in
short-term thinking.
He said: "We have to look at what
needs to be done and in-house we have a plan in place to go forward
but are in limbo at the moment."
"We want to compete but it’s been
hard. We finished well in Twenty20 and being runners-up in our
group in the Clydesdale Bank 40 competition was a fantastic
effort.
"The performance against Durham on
Saturday in making it five wins out of five was outstanding and one
of the most pleasing results I have been involved with since I have
been back."
Reflecting on a difficult season,
Farbrace said: "I’m still smiling, it could be worse but I have no
regrets at all about coming back.
"I’m excited by seeing some of the
youngsters coming through.
"The next two years will be tough
and people have got to be patient.
"I believe we will become a better
stronger club but need to take it step by step and it will involve
a lot of work."
