Kent duo Darren Stevens and Azhar Mahmood bought in the Bangladesh Premier League T20 auction
Kent stars Darren
Stevens and Azhar Mahmood have been snapped-up by sides in the
auction ahead of next year's Bangladesh Premier
League.
The all-rounders enjoyed success
as teammates in the 2012 competition, which they won with the Dhaka
Gladiators, however they will go their separate ways when the new
five-week season begins on January 18.
Stevens, 35, was sold back to
the Gladiators for $30,000 - $5,000 more than last year - where he
will play alongside countrymen Luke Wright and Owais Shah.
Stevens, pictured, will
also link-up with his former Kent teammate Lasath
Malinga and the pace-man's Sri Lankan teammate
Tillakaratne Dilshan.
Mahmood, 37, was bought by the
Barisal Burners for a whopping $150,000 - eighth-highest in the
league - where he will play alongside England's Phil Mustard
and Kabir Ali, Australia's Brad Hodge and Pakistan's Umar Gul.
Kent's former West Indies
batsman Brendan Nash was also included in the auction but went
unsold.
Stevens is under contract at the St
Lawrence Ground for the next two seasons while the club retain a
T20 option on Mahmood, should he opt to play in England next
summer.

Stevens will benefit from the experience of the competition? Have
