Gillingham forward Myles Weston relishing his time at Priestfield after unhappy spell at Brentford

by Luke Cawdell
Gillingham forward Myles Weston is thriving on his active role
in first-team football this season.
The 24-year-old, pictured, moved to the club in the summer
after finding his options at Brentford limited. And with 20
appearances behind him so far under Martin Allen he is happy
again.
He said: "Last season I didn’t play as much as I wanted to but
here I am playing games and that’s the most important thing for me
– to enjoy every game I am playing in because I have been at
Brentford before and I wasn’t playing and I wasn’t happy.
"I am happy with everything here. We are top of the league and
let’s hope we can carry on there and get promoted."
Weston has been deployed in several areas up front for the Gills
– any of which he is happy to play.
"Before I signed the gaffer knew I could play on the wing or up
front and I am happy to play wherever I can help the team," he
said.
"I am just happy to play and I am comfortable playing in both
positions. If I’m told to play on the right wing then I will. I
just enjoy playing football and scoring goals."
