Folkestone and Faversham go into a
50-50 tackle
Folkestone Invicta came from behind to beat
10-man Faversham Town and go fourth in Ryman
League Division 1 South.
The hosts actually took the lead through Danny Hockton on eight
minutes but they saw Matt Bourne sent-off before Stuart King
levelled with a 38th-minute penalty.
Frankie Chappell turned the game on its head with 20 minutes
remaining and James Everitt made the points safe on 84 minutes
before King fired his 20th of the campaign late-on to keep Invicta
within 10 points of the summit.
Maidstone United slipped to fifth and are only
two points ahead of play-off chasing Worthing, despite a creditable
goalless draw at Dulwich Hamlet.
Hamlet slipped to third, but came closest when Frankie Sawyer
hit the post with new Stones keeper John Whitehouse beaten.
Sixth-placed Worthing have a game in hand over the Stones and
would have overtaken them had they not been pegged back by
Eastbourne Town a minute from time to draw 2-2.
Hythe Town moved level on points with
seventh-placed Chipstead after coming from behind to beat Crawley
Down 3-1.
Luke Blewden put the visitors ahead on 25 minutes but two
minutes into the second-half Nick Reeves volleyed Hythe level and
Pat Kingwell completed the turnaround with 25 minutes
remaining.
Brendon Cass sealed the win with a header 15 minutes from
time.
Ramsgate are two points back in ninth after
overcoming Burgess Hill Town by the odd goal in five.
Gillingham loanee Bradley Dack opened the scoring on the
half-hour after coming off the bench but Hill drew level through
Kenny Pogue on 51 minutes.
Joe Taylor put the Rams back ahead just before the hour and
although Pat Harding's goal pegged them back five minutes later,
Taylor grabbed his second to win it two minutes from time.
Whitstable Town suffered a 5-0 humbling at home
to title-chasing Whitehawk to remain in the bottom two, below
Burgess Hill on goal difference.
The Sussex side went second after taking a 2-0 lead in the
closing stages of the first half through a brace of Paul Armstrong
penalties, while Joe Keeham made it 3-0 on the hour and Sam Gargan
and Josh Jones wrapped-up the big win with 15 minutes
remaining.
