Oliver Lee gives Gillingham extra attacking quality

Newcomer Oliver Lee will give the Gills additional quality
going forward, believes manager Andy Hessenthaler.
The 20-year-old (pictured) joined from West Ham before the
weekend on a month’s youth loan and was an unused substitute for
Gillingham at Port Vale.
"He is a fantastic player and very technically correct," said
Hessenthaler on his new recruit. "He will get forward and that’s
his strength; getting forward from midfield."
Lee is on a professional contract with West Ham but is looking
for a new club after being told his deal won’t be extended in the
summer.
Hessenthaler feels the player could be one for the future and
after a two-week trial, he will now take an extended look at the
young midfielder.
The Gills boss said: "He will get his opportunity but he is only
a young boy. He certainly could be one for the future. He also has
a bit of experience as he has played (on loan) for Dagenham at this
level. He has a fantastic upbringing and if he is anything like his
dad (former England midfielder Rob) we have a player on our
hands."
Lee scored one of the goals in Gillingham’s reserve game against
a Chelsea XI last week. His loan runs up to and including the trip
to Cheltenham on March 17.
