Dover
Athletic had to settle for a 1-1 draw at Dorchester in Blue Square
Bet South after a dramatic finale in Dorset on Saturday.
Whites failed to capitalise as only two of the seven teams above
them at the start of the day won.
Substitute Donovan Simmonds (pictured) looked to have
snatched a vital three points for Dover inside the final 10 minutes
when he broke the deadlock.
Michael Corcoran's hopeful ball over the top was chased down by
Billy Bricknell who outmuscled a defender before lashing a cross
into the middle where Simmonds was on hand to touch past the Town
keeper.
However less than two minutes later the celebration turned into
deflation as Whites were undone by a long-ball forward and Tom
Nicholls slipped the ball past Mikhael Jaimez-Ruiz on 83
minutes.
Earlier Barry Cogan had sent a free-kick over the bar but
defences were on top, with no real chances at either end in the
opening 45 minutes.
The first real goalmouth action came 15 minutes from time when
Corcoran's shot was saved and Bricknell's follow-up was somehow
headed off the line by a defender.
Ed Harris blazed over another chance following a goalmouth
scramble and after the goals both sides spurned late opportunities
to snatch a winner as the game finished level, leaving Whites five
points outside the play-off places in eighth.

two dropped?
