Tonbridge Angels have turned down an
approach from a League 1 club for Frannie Collin.
The 24-year-old striker rediscovered
his goal touch with a four-goal salvo in the 5-1 Blue Square Bet
South win against Eastbourne Borough last Saturday.
They were his first goals in the
league for two months, putting him top of the scoring charts with
20 for the season.
Boss Tommy Warrilow would not name the
club concerned, but said: "They have been watching Frannie for some
time and wanted to take him for a week but we said no.
"I spoke to him and he’s fine about
it. There is also another League 1 club interested as well."
Collin (pictured) netted after
only 14 seconds and got three more in the second half against
Eastbourne.
Tonbridge are without a game on
Saturday but several players will get a run-out in the
reserves.
Warrilow has several injury worries,
with only nine players at training on Tuesday. Joe Benjamin (ankle)
is the latest casualty, while Ade Olorunda visited a specialist
this week about a cartilage problem which may need an
operation.
Striker Jon Main was due to join in
last night after being out for most of the season, while frontman
Mikel Suarez will be out for another two to three weeks with ankle
ligament damage.
Wideman Chris Henry has been released
and looks set to join St Albans, while long-serving club man Simon
Balsdon has rejoined the coaching staff.
