Gillingham boss Martin Allen hopes for maximum return against Morecambe and Exeter City in the next two League 2 outings

Gillingham are targeting
a six-point haul in a bid to extend their lead at the top of League
2.
The first of two home games
inside four days takes place tomorrow (Saturday) when Morecambe
visit Priestfield.
And Martin Allen’s
pace-setters, who have been held to draws in their last two
outings, then host Exeter on Tuesday night.
Boss Allen said: "For these
two games it’s going to be exciting and the aim is to extend that
lead at the top of the table that we currently have.
"I am sure everyone involved
in Gillingham Football Club loves the fact that we are five points
clear.
"The fact that we are five
points clear after two draws is fantastic. Now if we can push on
again, wouldn’t it be fantastic to get six points from these two
home games and extend this lead at the top?
"We were just a little bit
below our high standards on Saturday (at Plymouth) and the players
were the first to admit that but they train hard and work hard and
I would never knock their commitment or desire.
"If we play well we win,
that’s what I always say to our players. I strongly believe
that.
"These games come along and
they will be ones where people say we should win but we have got to
play well."
