Danny Jackman wants Gillingham to bounce back from Exeter City defeat against Accrington Stanley

by Luke Cawdell
Danny Jackman believes that success at some of the less
glamorous locations is a must if Gillingham are to achieve
promotion this season.
The Gills face Accrington on Saturday aiming to bounce back from
Tuesday night’s home defeat to Exeter.
Jackman (pictured) said: "If you want to win titles and get
promoted, you need to go to the sort of away games that aren’t nice
to play at and that’s what we’ll be looking to do.
"We’ve had a small blip but we are still top of the league and a
good few points away from other teams. We have to go back to doing
what we’ve been doing well at the start of the season, go to
Accrington and get a result.
"I played (against Accrington) last season and scored – I
remember the goals because I don’t get many! It is not a nice place
to go and it was my first time there last season.
"It is a strange place but there are all sorts of teams and all
sorts of grounds and we have to rise to the challenge, no matter
whether it’s the Oxfords or the Accringtons.
"We won’t let the (Exeter) game affect us too much and worry
about it. If we can get a good result Saturday, we are back on it
again."
