Martin Allen wants Gillingham to sharpen up in attack when they face Plymouth Argyle in League 2

by Luke Cawdell
Gillingham boss Martin Allen will be hoping to see his side
sharpen up in attack ahead of their trip to Plymouth
on Saturday.
The Gills lacked the cutting edge to finish Cheltenham off in
midweek and Allen hopes his men can rediscover their form in front
of goal this weekend.
"We just need that bit of calmness in the final third," said the
Gills boss (pictured).
"But for that effort and determination, everyone could see we
were desperate to win."
Allen’s side remain five points clear at the top, as none of the
other leading sides won in midweek.
"There is a long, long way to go but it is another clean sheet
and we now know that the top teams in this division are going to be
tough to beat," he said.
Next up for the Gills are a Plymouth team who crashed out of the
FA Cup to non-league Dorchester at the weekend. Their problems
continued on Wednesday night when they suffered a 2-1 home league
defeat to Burton.
Allen said: "Every game is tough but we have a big squad, good
players and a great group of people on and off the field."
