Charlton held high-flying Blackburn to a draw at Ewood Park on
Saturday.
Dickson Etuhu put the hosts ahead after just 16 minutes of the
Championship match but it was all-square when Johnnie Jackson
(pictured) netted 11 minutes later.
That goal made amends for a penalty blunder just a minute
earlier when Morten Gamst Pedersen had brought Leon Cort down in
the box but Paul Robinson saved the spot-kick with his legs from
Jackson.
Blackburn – playing for the first time since manager Steve Kean
quit the club – put the pressure on in the second half, with
chances from Nuno Gomes volleyed over and Jordan Rhodes going
wide.
But the best chance for the winner fell to Charlton in stoppage
time but Robinson made a great save to deny Bradley
Wright-Phillips’ acrobatic effort.
The result leaves Charlton sitting 20th in the table after nine
games.
