Ben Harmison gets second chance with Kent after signing two-year contract extension despite disappointing debut season

Ben Harmison has revealed he has signed a two-year contract
extension with Kent - despite averaging only 20 with the bat last
season.
The 26-year-old, pictured, came under fire in his first
season at St Lawrence but he is determined to win the Kent
supporters around.
"Hopefully something will click and I can be a big player for
the club," said Harmison, who left Durham last winter to link up
with Kent.
"They have given me another two years and want to keep the core
strength of the squad together.
"Jimmy Adams (Kent coach) knows my strengths and I
have a good attitude. I will be looking for a little break next
season, to score runs and take wickets."
Harmison’s form saw him left out of the side after a poor run in
which he made only 325 runs in 12 innings.
Reflecting on being dropped, Harmison added: "I am a big lad and
can take it, knowing there are other lads in the squad looking to
push you out.
"It was a frustrating time for me because I had a good
pre-season and perhaps I peaked too early. It was a new role
batting at three, where before I had played as the all-rounder,
going in at six."
