Victory over Bradford City equalled Gillingham's best ever record in the Football League

Gillingham equalled the club record for the most amount of
away victories in a season on Saturday – and now boss Martin Allen
aims to break it.
The Gills face York on Tuesday night hoping to claim their 11th
away win of the season.
The last time Gillingham reached double figures of away
victories in the Football League was under Keith Peacock during the
1984-85 season.
Allen’s men, who have struggled for form at Priestfield, are now
hoping to be record breakers away from home.
Allen (pictured) said: “We want to hammer that record. We
don’t set out to break a record but I suppose it is nice to be part
of the history of the football club and without a doubt we are
going to be record breakers.
“It’s special to equal it and it’s going to be brilliant when we
beat it. How good is it to be manager and to equal a record for
away league wins in one season?
“I hugged everyone as they came through the dressing room door
on Saturday) and told them how proud I was.”
The only other league side in England that can match Gills’
record of 10 wins and three draws on their travels are Doncaster,
who sit second in League 1.
