Anton Robinson best yet to come at Gillingham

Loan signing Anton Robinson is hoping to start impressing the Gillingham fans now his fitness levels have begun to peak.

The midfielder arrived at Priestfield on transfer deadline day with just 64 minutes on the pitch for Huddersfield this season.

It meant easing into life with the Gills but, with starts in his last two games, he is beginning to feel sharp once more.

He said: "It was my first 90 minutes on Saturday (against Bradford) for a long time.

"I feel like I am getting back to full match fitness. Tuesday’s game was a little bit difficult on the legs but I feel like I am getting back to match sharpness and hopefully the Gillingham fans will see better of me in the games to come."

Robinson helped the Gills to another point on Tuesday, in a 0-0 draw with the Minstermen.

He said: "The lads worked hard and in the second half we put our foot on the game and were unlucky not to come away with three points.

"We will take the four points, though, from the last two away games and hopefully we can get back to winning ways on Saturday against Dagenham."
