Kent bowler Charlie Shreck keen to get chance in limited overs cricket

By Steve Tervet
Charlie Shreck is hoping to feature for Kent in limited overs
cricket this summer.
The 35-year-old led Kent’s bowling attack in the County
Championship last season, his first full campaign at the St
Lawrence Ground.
Shreck (pictured) picked up 58 first-class wickets but did not
feature for Kent in the shorter versions of the game.
Now the former Nottinghamshire man wants to be given a chance by
coach Jimmy Adams to shine in 20 and 40-over games as well as the
four-day format.
He said: “I’ve not had a lot to do with that but maybe Jimmy
will change his mind and put me in some games.
“It’s where more supporters see what you can do. There’s an
element of worrying about age and not being able to do everything
at once. It’s not nice to be told you can’t do it.
“I didn’t get much of a conversation last year. I got cut off
pretty quickly.”
Shreck (pictured) has stepped up his pre-season training since
Christmas and will join up with his club-mates in March.
