Gillingham's loan signing Danny East shows promise in cameo debut against Plymouth

by Luke Cawdell
Danny East made his Gillingham debut at the weekend after
signing on loan until the end of the season.
The 21-year-old Hull City player, pictured, made a brief
appearance towards the end of Saturday’s 2-1 win over Plymouth.
Manager Martin Allen said: “East showed what he can do
- and what a player he looks.”
East has yet to make his Hull debut, but earlier this season he
made 19 appearances for fellow League 2 side Northampton. It was
there where Allen first recognised the player could do a job for
his own team.
“He played full-back and I circled him on my sheet of paper,”
said Allen. “He’s aggressive, athletic, hungry, with a good
attitude and he is a winner.”
East can play in a variety of positions, including both right
and left-back, and in midfield, which is where he appeared on
Saturday.
