Gillingham defender Andy Frampton awaiting result of brain scan as head injury keeps him sidelined for a third fixture

by Luke Cawdell
Andy Frampton has had a brain scan in a bid to rule
out any lasting damage after a blow to the head.
Gills boss Martin Allen has kept the defender,
pictured, out of action ever since he came off following a
knock in the home win over Dagenham on February 16.
Frampton has now missed the last three Gillingham games but
Allen won’t be bringing him back until he knows the player is 100%
right.
He said: “Andrew is OK. He has had a brain scan because of
repetitive headaches and problems.
“I am not going to play him and he isn’t going to train until I
get full clearance from the consultant that he is going to be
OK.
“I want to win the games and I want our club to do well but
Andrew is a normal human being and it is important he has a full
recovery.”
Midfielder Charlie Allen, meanwhile, went to see a consultant
last week regarding his hand fracture but must wait a little longer
before returning to action.
Gills were also missing Myles Weston against Aldershot as he
recovers from an ankle injury.
