Midweek Ryman League round-up
Maidstone defender Steve Watt scored an
own-goal and was sent off in his side's draw 2-2 with
Folkestone at the Gallagher Stadium on Tuesday
Watt put through his own net at a free-kick to give Invicta the
lead on 37 minutes.
Earlier booked for dissent, he was shown a second yellow card
for a foul on the edge of the box three minutes into the second
Ryman League Division 1 South leaders Maidstone played better
with 10 men and levelled when former Folkestone striker Stuart
King's free-kick was helped in by keeper Jack Delo on 68
Ade Olorunda wrapped his foot around a King cross to give United
the lead on 79 minutes but Darren Smith clinched a point for the
visitors six minutes from time.
Faversham climbed to second place after
recovering from a goal down to win 2-1 at Horsham.
Jordon Clarke put Horsham in front with an early penalty but Dan
Lawrence levelled and veteran striker Lyndon Rowland scored the
winner before half-time after Kieran Oliver's shot was parried.
Ramsgate boosted their play-off hopes with a
4-1 home win over fourth-placed Leatherhead.
James Sherman's header gave Rams an early lead but Tommy
Hutchings equalised from 20 yards.
A Ben Laslett screamer restored the advantage before half-time
with Dean Hill and Ian Pulman wrapping up a win that leaves
eighth-placed Rams just a point off the play-offs.
In the Ryman League Premier Division, Cray
twice fought back from two goals down against Wingate but lost 4-3
in the last minute.
Penalties from Leigh Bremner and new signing Paul Booth were
followed by a James Fray strike to square the match but Cray
suffered their 10th home defeat of the season.
Thamesmead climbed to third place in Ryman
League Division 1 North with Rob Carter's 50th-minute strike
earning a 1-0 win at Brentwood.
