Teen sensation Jake Hessenthaler is relishing the chance to face league leaders Leyton Orient at Priestfield.
Confidence is high in the Gills camp, following some good recent results, and few players can be feeling happier than Hessenthaler.
The 19-year-old made his debut at the end of November and has kept his place in the team ever since.
Hessenthaler, speaking to the Gills official website, said: “I am looking forward to the Christmas period and I am excited about it.
“Let’s hope we can win as many games as we can. It’s a busy schedule but hopefully we can use the whole squad and stick together.
“It’s a big game against Leyton Orient on Boxing Day and it’s going to be tough, but if we fight like we did against Tranmere and play the same way then we can get something out of the game.”
The Gills won Friday night’s game 2-1 against Tranmere while Orient lost 3-2 the following day at home to Crawley.

“It could be the best time to play them,” said Hessenthaler, who now has four Gills appearances to his name.
“They lost on Saturday and we picked up four points in the last couple of games. It might be the best time to play them but it’s never going to be an easy game. They haven’t been top of the league for no reason.
“We need to apply ourselves right. We are at home and with our own fans backing us we should have a very good chance of getting something from the game.”
Kick-off on Boxing Day is at 1.30pm. If you can't make the game, keep up-to-date with the action by following us on twitter.
