Craig Fagan has agreed to remain at Gillingham for the remainder of the season.
The 31-year-old has been with the Gills since November and has made seven appearances under boss Peter Taylor.
Fagan made his debut for the Gills in a 2-1 win at Sheffield United and only injury has prevented him from making more appearances.
In recent weeks he has been playing on the wing, in the absence of injured duo Myles Weston and Chris Whelpdale.
Taylor spoke exclusively to the KM Group on Tuesday afternoon about his hopes of tying up a deal for Fagan, That has now been completed.
Gills assistant boss John Schofield was delighted with the deal and believes the club's young players can only benefit.
He said: "He is a good experienced addition to the squad. He is someone who has been there, seen it and done it and will be a wealth of experience for our younger players.
"What he has done and what he is prepared to do is sacrifice himself sometimes, as an individual, for the team and that certainly hasn't gone unnoticed.
"He will bring knowledge and knowhow to us. Not only has he played a lot of games but he has experienced different situations in football and it is always good to pass that on.
"The bloke has played in the Premier League and the lads have got to talk to him and listen to him and milk him for all the experience he has got."
Speaking to the club's website after signing, Fagan said: “I am enjoying my time here, I know the manager from before and I’m enjoying playing with the lads.
"I’ve been to a few clubs and this is one of the friendliest I’ve been to. Not just the playing staff but people around the ground as well."
