Sutton United 1 Tonbridge Angels 2
Shamir Goodwin scored a second-half winner as Tonbridge Angels claimed an impressive 2-1 victory at Skrill South promotion contenders Sutton on Saturday.
Tommy Warrilow’s visitors had to come from a goal down to take the points, with Charlie Clough’s header from a Mitchell Nelson cross giving Sutton the lead on 15 minutes.
Angels levelled six minutes later, Lee Browning finding Mikel Suarez in the box before Chris Piper finished the loose ball.
Both sides had chances before Suarez had a goal ruled out for offside at the end of the first half after keeper Tom Lovelock failed to hold Browning’s free-kick.
Goodwin was once again outstanding up front and it was the on-loan Brighton youngster who earned victory for Angels on 67 minutes.
He collected a pass from Nathan Green and worked space to fire across Lovelock from outside the area.
The win moves Tonbridge up to 17th place in Skrill South.
