Boreham Wood 2 Dover Athletic 2
Jeff Goulding made it five goals in his first two games as his double strike helped Dover to a valuable point at Boreham Wood on Saturday.
Goulding – who scored a hat-trick on his debut last week against Dorchester – gave Dover the lead on 22 minutes after Wood ‘keeper James Russell had fumbled a Barry Cogan free-kick and then grabbed Whites’ equaliser 10 minutes from time with a penalty.
Wood had applied most of the early pressure before Goulding’s opener and then had a great chance to draw level before the break but Arsenal loanee Austin Lipman fired his shot over.
However, they were back on level terms nine minutes into the second half when Whites defender Terrell Forbes headed a Graeme Montgomery free-kick into his own net.
And two minutes later the home side went in front when Montgomery fired home from 30 yards.
But Goulding ensured that Whites didn’t return home empty-handed when he converted his late penalty chance following a foul on Sean Raggett.
Dover are now ninth in Skrill South, two points outside the play-off positions.
