Gillingham are understood to have agreed a loan deal with Ipswich Town for striker Jack Marriott.
The front-man has just finished a loan spell with Woking where he scored nine goals in nine games, in all competitions.
The youngster has come through the youth ranks at Ipswich but has made just one senior appearance so far, as a substitute at the end of last season.
He impressed during a month at Woking, scoring on his debut in a 3-0 win over Dartford and netting two in his second game. He also scored a hat-trick in his spell with the Skrill Premier side.
His loan move has yet to be confirmed but Woking announced that they wouldn’t be keeping hold of the 19-year-old.
Their official website confirmed: “Jack Marriott’s loan period from Ipswich Town, finished today January 2nd, and Jack will be joining Football League Division One side Gillingham on loan.”
Gills boss Peter Taylor is in the market for a striker due after Danny Kedwell picked up a hernia injury and Antonio German left for Northampton.
Gillingham already have versatile Ipswich player Elliott Hewitt on loan with the club but he is currently out with an ankle injury. The Gills look set to extend Hewitt’s stay but he is unlikely to feature in the match against Wolves on Friday.
