Gillingham's Charlie Lee is looking to reproduce the form he had while at Peterborough United
Charlie Lee has a trophy cabinet full of silverware to remind him of his time at Peterborough United.
Lee’s first two years at London Road saw him clinch back-to-back promotions and the honour of being named player-of-the-year in both seasons.
It’s the kind of form he’s been striving to repeat ever since signing permanently for the Gills from Peterborough in the summer of 2011.
“In those first two seasons I played over 100 games and as a youngster they just come thick and fast,” said the 26-year-old.
“As you get older you pick up niggles and it isn’t quite as easy. The frustrating thing is that since I have been at Gillingham, I came here with a good reputation and I tried so hard to impress that I probably went too far.
“I was getting injuries and suspensions and it’s been like that the whole time.
“But I am feeling fit now and strong and hopefully we can change some of those results we’ve been having."
