Spinner James Tredwell has been named in England's provisional 30-man squad for the ICC T20 World Cup in Bangladesh in March.
The former Kent captain, who turns 32 next month, is on England duty Down Under and will hope to impress selectors before the squad will be trimmed to a final 15-member party following the three-match t20 series against Australia beginning on January 29.
Led by Stuart Broad, 2010 champions England will begin their push for a second title when they face New Zealand in Chittagong on March 22 - four years to the week after Tredwell made his only Test appearance in the same country.
Former Kent man Michael Carberry is also in the provisional squad.
Tredwell made his first international appearance of the winter as England demolished an Australian Prime Minister’s XI by 172 runs in Canberra on Tuesday.
The New Romney ace hit an unbeaten 18 from 13 balls as the tourists posted 264-8 in the 50-over game before taking 1-10 from his four overs after opening the bowling, with the select side dismissed for just 92.
Tredwell was surprisingly omitted as England lost the opening ODI of the five-match series in Melbourne on Sunday, but will hope to be included for the clashes in Brisbane and Sydney, in the early hours of Friday and Sunday respectively.
