The timing feels right for Space to play again
Indie rock band Space is back after an absence of almost 10
years – and coming to Kent.
The Liverpudlian group, which rose to fame in the mid 1990s with
hits such as Female Of The Species, Neighbourhood and You and Me Vs
The World, is playing in Herne Bay as part of a UK-wide tour.
Space disbanded after releasing its last single in 2004, but
reformed in December for a one-off Christmas show, which proved a
sell-out, prompting the decision to get back on the road.
The line-up features original band members Tommy Scott
(vocals/guitar), Jamie Murphy (vocals/guitar) and Franny Griffiths
(keyboards), along with Phil Hartley (bass), Ryan Clarke (vintage
keys) and drummer Allan Jones.
Tommy said: “I started to play the Space songs again last summer
and started to get nostalgic. It just feels right at the moment to
give it a go again.”
Space, with special guests Kaleidophone & The Fruit
Group, will be at the Kings Hall on Thursday, February 28. Tickets
£15. Box office 01227 374188.
