The Kent Messenger moved into its office in Middle Row, Maidstone, in January 1991 after leaving Week Street, where the paper was both produced and printed. The move, into a former dress shop, allowed the team to incorporate an advertising department, reporters and receptionists in one building. Rumour has it that there is a ghost in a basement.

Directions by Road

Road Map

From the M20

M20 exit 7 (Running Horse roundabout) towards A229, follow signs to Maidstone town centre.

Traffic is banned from the High Street between 10am and 4pm, so continue on A229 towards Hastings and follow signs to Chequers shopping centre car park. After parking, turn left out of main exit from shopping centre into High Street, continue past junction with Gabriel's Hill, keep right of Town Hall, and KM office is on your left two doors further down.

Approaching Maidstone from the coast, take A229 to Loose Road and follow one way system to town centre.

There is no parking at the office; follow town centre signs to car parks. There are park and ride schemes in London Road, Sittingbourne Road and Loose Road.

We look forward to welcoming you to Maidstone!

Directions by Rail

Trains from Victoria or Charing Cross to Maidstone EAST station. From the station either take a cab to the office or walk through the town centre (10 minutes).
On foot: On leaving the station turn right, cross the road into Week Street and walk on through pedestrianised shopping area to junction with High Street. Turn right and use pelican crossing to cross to Town Hall. Before you cross, you will see the KM office to the right of the Town Hall.

Directions by Bus

Take any Nu-Venture or Arriva bus to the town centre (Victoria Monument). The KM office is located almost next to the Town Hall, opposite the Royal Star Arcade.
