Environmental Policy
KM Group recognizes that every aspect of its
business can potentially have an impact on the environment.
The Company is committed to recycling,
reducing and reusing materials as well as preventing pollution and
reducing energy.
The Company has introduced an Environmental
Management System in line with its Core Values to ensure that all
products are handled, transported, used and disposed of safely and
in compliance with relevant environmental legislation.
It is a primary responsibility of the Company
to protect the environment as an integral part of good business
practice.
The company objectives are:
- To ensure awareness amongst employees at all levels of the
importance of environmental issues, and provide training
appropriate to their responsibilities
- Commitment to a program of continual improvement in
environmental performance, and to review at regular intervals in
order to ensure progress.
- To ensure that processes are actively managed and procedures
are in place to reduce the use of raw materials, water and energy
consumption and to minimize waste production.
- Ensure that all suppliers, contractors and associated companies
used by the Company comply with relevant environmental
legislation.
- Always research the potential environmental impacts when
considering new projects and when altering current processes or
operations.
- To reduce the production of pollutants and prevent their
emissions to the environment where reasonably practicable.
- To use recyclable and renewable materials, and to reduce energy
consumption, wherever possible.
- To ensure that where reasonably practicable, prior to
purchasing, any hazardous chemicals should be eliminated,
substituted or sufficient controls put in place to ensure that the
effect on the environment is minimal.
Every employee whilst at work has a duty under
the Environmental Policy to;
- Be aware of any action that may have an effect on the
environment.
- Co-operate with the Company to ensure legal requirements, this
Environmental Policy, and internal procedures are complied
with.
- Neither, intentionally or recklessly, interfere with or misuse
anything provided in the interest of protecting the
environment.
- Report all environmental incidents to line management for
investigation and corrective action.
The Environmental Policy and Procedures will
be managed, monitored and reviewed periodically to address the
change in legislation and the Company’s requirements.
