Dartford Messenger records significant rise in
users
Dramatic news stories have resulted in KM
Group’s Dartford
Messenger website recording its highest visitor figures
since it was launched over a year ago.
July’s Nedstat figures show a 79% increase
in page impressions over the previous month and a 131% rise in
unique users.
On average Dartford Messenger has between
9,000 and 12,000 hits a month. In July 21,069 page impressions from
6,907 unique users were recorded.
Fans of Charlton FC turned to the site for
breaking news about the club and some of those affected by a power
cut across Dartford, Crayford, Bexleyheath, Erith, and
Orpington visited the site for information about the story
affecting them. Some left comments reflecting their
frustration. This story also led to over 13,000 page impressions on
KM Group’s flagship website, KentOnline.
But it was a breaking story about a fire
breaking out in the bedroom of a secure hospital that drew the most
page impressions.
Launched in April 2008, the site is a
companion to the Dartford Messenger newspaper, an edition of the
Gravesend & Dartford Messenger (Series) with 5,808 readers in
the Dartford area according to the latest
JICREG readership report. KM Group has 9 other
local websites.
