Snow news is good news for KentOnline
Extraordinary weather conditions in January resulted in more
visitors than ever turning to local online news site KentOnline.
Over 5 million page impressions were
recorded using Nedstat software during the month, almost
1 million more than during the last period of extreme weather in
February 2009.* 5,171,562 page impressions were recorded.
370,622 unique users visited the site, over
80,000 more than in
February 2009, in which 286,585 unique users were recorded.
KentOnline editor Sandra Hembery said the
figures were a great reflection on the site's snow coverage. She
said: "We gave our readers regular traffic, public transport and
weather updates, and our school closures information was
indispensable to parents.
"We were overwhelmed with readers' pictures,
and we provided both audio and video coverage."
