More than before in Canterbury
KM Group is now promising more than
before to readers and advertisers in Canterbury.
After talking to its audience and advertisers,
the Kent-based, family-owned business has decided to make some
significant chances to its press offering in the Canterbury,
Whitstable, Herne Bay and Faversham area of East Kent.
Changes include:
- An increase in the number of localised change pages in the
Whitstable Gazette, Herne Bay Gazette and Faversham
News.
- The movement of its popular Community News feature forward in
the Whitstable Gazette, Herne Bay Gazette and Faversham News.
- Increased local entertainment, arts and culture coverage in the
Kentish Gazette group of titles.
- Greater distribution of its new-look free weekly, the
Extra.
- Increased pagination for the Extra.
- The introduction of dedicated front pages for issues of the
Extra circulated in Whitstable and Herne Bay.
These new benefits will be promoted to readers
and advertisers via a comprehensive marketing campaign that uses KM
Group’s complete multimedia portfolio.
Editor Leo Whitlock said "As we emerge from
the recession, we feel it's time to pay back our audiences and
advertisers for all the support they gave us during the tough
times.
"It's a real pleasure to be involved in
driving our papers, websites and radio stations forward to
everyone's benefit. There is so much energy and passion among our
own people and those we deal with, we would be mad not to
capitalise on it."
This is the latest in a long line of positive
developments for the company. The group recently celebrated the
fact its countywide website, KentOnline, was more than 5,000
places ahead of its closest rival in the UK rankings.* It also
scooped an industry-wide green award, Environmental Newspaper
Company of the Year, in the 2009 Newspaper Awards.
