Mother sentenced for breaking newborn son's leg is appealing for a shorter prison-term

The mother who was sentenced earlier this year for breaking her newborn son's leg is appealing for a shorter prison-term. Jody Simpson and her partner Anthony Smith were given 10 years each for allowing their son to suffer serious physical harm and neglect. Baby Tony Smith survived but his adopted mother Paula Hudgell is campaigning to have the maximum term for child cruelty increased.
