Members of the business networking club BNI are rallying to support this year's Canterbury heat of the KM Big Charity Quiz.

The event is hoping to attract 50 teams as part of the University of Kent's 50th anniversary celebrations, and local BNI members are aiming to enter multiple teams to help nudge event numbers closer to the target. The event will take place in the sports hall at the Canterbury campus of the university on Friday, April 24.

Teams of eight will take on teams from across the district for a range of prizes including P&O Ferry vouchers and the coveted KM Big Quiz Trophy.

Guests will receive a ploughman's meal and complimentary drink. Booking online at www.kmbigquiz.co.uk and using code CABQEB15 will earn team captain's a £10 discount on the £65 cost of their table and a complimentary bottle of wine.

This year's KM Big Charity Quiz will support the Kentish Gazette's charity of the year - Catching Lives, as well as the League of Friends at Canterbury Hospital and the children's road safety service at the KM Charity Team.

Event Quizmaster Simon Dolby said: "We have a great chance to meet our target of 50 teams, but we need KentOnline readers to sign up and join in the fun. The causes benefiting from the event need the support of readers, so book your table now."

The event is supported by MHS MacIntyre Hudson accountants, Shepherd Neame, Barclays bank and the University of Kent Sports Hall.
