Organisers of the annual KM Big Charity Quiz have thrown down the gauntlet to trivia fans in Canterbury.

The challenge is to make this year’s quiz a bumper event and trump last year’s impressive charity pot.

The Big Quiz is organised by the KM’s charity department and will be staged at the University of Kent’s Sports Centre on Friday, April 24. KentOnline readers can sign up now using a special early bird discount code.

Good causes receiving a share of the proceeds include Catching Lives and the children’s road safety service of the KM Charity Team.

The evening attracts scores of teams all competing for the KM Big Quiz trophy. Prizes are also awarded to the top teams linked to local government and education, as well as the NHS and caring services.

Event organiser Dominic Comins of the KM Charity Team said: “Join in the fun and encourage friends and work colleagues to book a table. There’s nothing like friendly rivalry to spice things up.

“Last year we broke records for numbers attending and raised a whopping £11,000 for good causes. Will you help us to make this year’s event another bumper windfall for charity?”

A table for eight people costs £65 inclusive of a ploughman’s supper, a free drink on arrival, free entry into a prize draw to win a PO Ferries voucher, and the chance to win £100 in cash.

Simon Dolby, chief executive of the KM Charity Team, said: "To make the event a success we’re looking for organisations to become headline sponsors and benefit from the significant profile we have to thank them, simply by donating £500.

“Businesses can also support one of the six quiz rounds with a £100 donation.”
