Cotswold Outdoor announce support for the 21st Anniversary KM Charity Walk which takes place on Sunday, June 26

A leading retailer has strapped up its boots and is stepping forward for good causes.

Cotswold Outdoor serve as a key partner of the 21st anniversary KM Charity Walk which is now open for booking.

Ian Foster, Supervisor and Local Marketing Representative of Cotswold Outdoor Maidstone, said: "We are delighted to be involved with the walk during this landmark anniversary year. We supported the event last year and saw a direct link between our custom and those participating, so we were very keen to maintain this relationship in 2016."

He added: "The walk raises thousands for truly important causes across the county such as the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance, and a charity very close to our hearts, Demelza Hospice Care for Children."

The family challenge day takes place on Sunday, June 26 event, and ramblers have the option of both five and 10 mile treks.

Starting and concluding at Maidstone’s Grade II Georgian mansion Mote House, walkers will pass through much charming Kentish countryside as well as Leeds Castle; also known as ‘the loveliest castle in the world’.

All participants will be presented with a limited edition medal upon return, as well as garden party complete with live music and a barbecue.

Sophie Wallace, events manager at the KM Charity Team which organises the event, said: “The Charity Walk has provided people across Kent, Medway and Bexley with a wholesome and enjoyable activity day for over 20 years. Last year we raised a staggering £20,000 and our plan is to top this figure come June."

Booking is charged at £11.50 per adult and children under 16 go free. Walkers are encouraged to gain sponsorship for their trek and can fundraise for their favourite charitable causes, or ones directly liked with the event.

The KM Charity Walk is supported by Specsavers, Gullands Solicitors, Benenden Hospital, and Cotswold Outdoor.
