Help the KM Bright Spark Awards to make science cool in Kent and Medway schools

The charity department at the KM Media Group is searching for businesses to help stage a school science version of Dragons’ Den – and we need your help to make it a success.

The KM Bright Spark Awards will be staged to help make science cool. The event will be held at the Discovery Park, Sandwich.

Students are encouraged to collaborate using cross-curricular skills in maths, IT, science and engineering to innovate and create.

The annual awards event takes the form of a Dragons’ Den-style format with students invited on stage to describe their creation. Finalists will be filmed in advance in school to show the detail of the project. This is screened before the dragons quiz the youngsters on their initiative.

Different panels of dragons will judge the varying categories or year groups and award trophies and experience prizes to the students and schools.

Could you support the event by agreeing to be one of the dragons on our panel and helping to provide a tiny bit of funding?

Partners supporting the event so far include: the science faculty at the University of Kent, Integrated Technologies Ltd, Hectic Lifestyles and the Discovery Park.

Benefits of support:

  • Promote your business through 650 Kent schools.
  • High profile for your business through KM media and on the home page of KentOnline (1.8m unique browsers each month).
  • You take part as a dragon and help pick the winners.
