And Barclays bank has vowed to match funds raised on the night ensuring a huge cash payout for charity.

The 10 anniversary wine and wisdom style event is being staged at the Stour Centre, Ashford on Friday, October 16.

As well as top raffle prizes – including a selection of toys and collectables from Hornby – quiz-goers will have the chance to win a £100 on the spot cash prize.

Booking includes a bottle of wine for the table plus a drink on arrival, entry into a prize draw to win a P&O Ferries voucher and ploughman’s supper for each team member.

Britain’s oldest brewer Shepherd Neame will provide a fully stocked charity bar while staff from Barclays will be serving the drinks. Specsavers is also backing the event and submitting a quiz team in a bid for the trophy.
