A south Kent company is encouraging KentOnline readers to focus on charity in November.

Specsavers are supporting the KM Big Charity Quiz and inviting teams of readers to take on their staff at the mammoth wine and wisdom evening. More than 20 teams of eight people have already signed up to take part, so event organisers are hopeful this could be a bumper year for numbers attending and amount raised for good causes.

The KM Big Charity Quiz will be staged at the Stour Centre on Friday, 18 November and teams of eight can receive discount when booking their team using code ASH16. This reduces the cost per head to £7, which includes nibbles and snacks on the table, a complimentary beverage and a bottle of wine per table.

Dan Shaw of Specsavers said: “We thoroughly enjoy the big quiz and really value the charity’s benefiting from the event. It’s great to be a part of it and our staff teams always get behind it – it’s a really good event.”

Simon Dolby from the KM Charity Team will be questionmaster for the evening and is keen to have KentOnline readers influencing proceedings by suggesting questions that could be included on the night.

He said: “The Readers Round is made up of questions sent in by the public. It has become quite a tradition that readers, whether they are attending the big quiz or not, send in their suggestions for questions! The best question is not the stinker that no one can answer, the best ones are those where you have the answer on the tip of your tongue.”

Organisations supporting the event include Shepherd Neame, Barclays bank, Specsavers, Hallett and Co, Office Angels and the Stour Centre. To secure your table or to submit a question for the Readers Round visit www.kmbigquiz.co.uk
