Organised by the KM’s charity department and supported by Day Smith and Hunter the abseil is being staged on Sunday, March 15.

Friends, family, well wishers and shoppers will cheer the daredevils on as they take the plunge from Miller House in Maidstone.

Terry Gore, general manager of Catching Lives, said: "We work to help end the harm caused by homelessness, rough sleeping and insecure housing. We rely on fundraising activities to do this and have persuaded five members of our staff to take part in the abseil to raise money for Catching Lives.

“They have varying degrees of abseiling experience but are all looking forward to the challenge."

The event is now sold out but booking is open for a KM abseil in Folkestone in June and the KM Dragon Boat Race in Maidstone the following month.

Event organiser Dominic Comins of the KM Charity Team said: “Enjoy our adrenaline pumping events – they’re great for team building or an unforgettable day out – plus you can raise lots of money for your favourite cause.”

To book, visit www.kmcharitychallenge.co.uk and click on the ‘Event Booking’ link. For the KM Dragon Boat Race enter the code KMDB15 for a £50 discount on the booking price.
