Westwood Cross festive lights will be switched on by Thanet primary school pupil

Schools using Buster’s Book Club have the chance to select a pupil to help switch on the festive lights at Westwood Cross.

The popular initiative used by schools to foster a love of reading will stage an inter-class challenge on Wednesday and Thursday 2/3 November with the prize being ice skating vouchers for every child in the winning class that reads the most.

The class teacher of the winning class will then get to select the pupil they believe are top or most improved with their reading to win the right to join KMFM to switch on the Christmas lights.

Hosted by KMFM, the event will feature live music from X Factor 2016 contestants Relley C and Freddy Parker plus Sandi from Gogglebox entertainment will start at 4pm with the big lights switch on at 6pm.

Thanet schools wanting to sign up for Buster’s Book Club have until 16 December for this academic year. Visit www.bustersbookclub.co.uk for more information.
