17-year-old from Maidstone charged with sexual offence

Officers investigating a sex attack in Maidstone have charged a 17-year-old boy.

The teenager from Maidstone was arrested by officers at 1pm on Monday and has since been charged with committing a sexual offence involving a teenage girl. He was also charged with obstructing a police officer, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, possession of cannabis and theft.

Callum Palmer, 18, of Upper Fant Road was also arrested on Monday and has since been charged with causing grievous bodily harm, possession of an offensive weapon and possession of cocaine with intent to supply.

Mr Palmer appeared by virtual link before Medway Magistrates’ Court yesterday, where he was remanded to Maidstone Crown Court on Wednesday, December 6.

The 17-year-old appeared before the same court and was bailed to attend a further hearing on Tuesday, November 28.
