Shamed Vicky Pryce has been released from a Kent prison this morning after serving a quarter of her sentence over a speeding points scam.

The ex-wife of former cabinet minister Chris Huhne served eight weeks of an eight-month sentence at East Sutton Park open prison, near Maidstone.

The 60-year-old economist was jailed in March alongside Huhne for perverting the course of justice after swapping speeding points in 2003.

Former energy secretary has also been released from jail in Gloucestershire this morning.

The pair will now have to wear electronic tags for the rest of their sentence.

Pryce was convicted after a retrial, while 58-year-old Huhne, the former Liberal Democrat MP for Eastleigh, pleaded guilty on the first day of his trial.

East Sutton Park, in Sutton Valence, is a Grade II-listed 15th Century mansion overlooking the Weald.

Inspectors say the prison, which holds around 100 women inmates, produces "unusually good outcomes".
