Firefighters attended a gas leak at Woodpecker Road in Larkfield on Sunday

Firefighters were called to a property in Larkfield following a gas leak on Sunday night.

A fire engine from Larkfield Fire Station was called to the private home in Woodpecker Road as a precautionary measure at 9.07pm.

An engineer from Southern Gas Networks was also called to the scene and found the leak on the internal pipework.

Firefighters left the scene at about 9.20pm.

The engineer remained on site for about 45 minutes while he fixed the problem and disconnected the gas meter.
