Detectives investigating the shooting of a man in Maidstone last week have arrested three more men.

The 24-year-old, from West Malling, was taken to Maidstone Hospital on Tuesday with a shotgun wound to his chest in what is thought to be a drugs-related incident.

Police, whose inquiry was concentrated on the scene of the shooting in Arundel Street in Maidstone for several days last week, arrested a 31-year-old and a 40-year-old, both from West Malling, and a 22-year-old from Chatham.

A man and a woman in their 30s were arrested on the day of the shooting. All five have been released on bail.

The victim is said to be making a good recovery.
